Christmas Cutouts are a long-time family tradition that I look forward to every year. We spend the whole day baking, eating too much cookie dough, and making memories that last a life time. This year I wanted to do a spin on our traditional cutouts, but was stumped until I saw these Nestle Tollhouse Rolled and Ready Cookie Dough sheets. I thought- "What about putting the cutouts on our coffee and hot chocolate mugs?" Loving the idea, I grabbed some meltable chocolate and fun sprinkles and ran home.
When I got home I preheated the oven to 350 and took out my baking sheet. The best thing about the Nestle Tollhouse Rolled and Ready? They're already floured. So all I had to do was lay out the cookie sheet and go to town with my cookie cutter. It took me five minutes tops. Talk about a time-saver.
The cookies only needed to bake about 10 minutes to be golden brown and perfect. I cut a rectangular shape in the bottom of each so that they could fit on the coffee mugs, then placed them in the fridge.
While the cookies were cooling, I melted down chocolate and placed it in a frosting bag. Then, as soon as the cookies were room temp, I got down to decorating.
These were a fast and fun way to add Christmas cheer. Try them out and let me know what you think!
Tip: If you cut your rectangles too big: fill them in with the melted chocolate, place on the coffee mug, and hold for 15 seconds. I promise they'll stay put ;)
